Piles - Lefkos

We also had to park just outside the small town of Piles.
There were a lot of cats in the parkinglot.
One of them craved me to cuddle her - though it looks like I grab her by the neck.

Again we witnessed the mix of new and decaying houses.
And lo and behold there had even been an Internet-cafe.
The town was nicely decorated even on the light poles.
And the panorama taverna had amphitheatre stairs.
We had the most wonderful view of the landscape and the sea.
Just before you get to Lefkos you can turn left and go to Potali Bay.
It was a nice area and a nice beach though there were large stones so it was difficult to get in the water.
The waves weren't that big but when they reached the shore they created a lot of undercurrent so it was difficult to get out of the water again.
Lone chose not to go in which was a good idea. She would have been flipped over by the undercurrent.
After dinner we went to Taverna Palagos again to listen to some music.
It was another band this time. The owner was still there but now together with a couple of younger guys playing keyboards and bouzouki and an older guy playing guitar.
They were really great.
I took a small video of the bouzouki player and sent it to Stathis, a man we know in Lefkas who is a great bouzouki player and asked if this guy was good or just a show off. Statis wrote back that the guy was really good.
I told the guy and he got very happy about it.
At the table behind us were a bunch of elderly greeks who sang and danced and made requests.
It turned out that they lived in Israel and were home on vacaton so they got quite nostalgic over the music and the atmosphere.
